From the calendar year in which they reach the age of 18, individuals are independently liable to pay tax on their entire income and assets. They are therefore obliged to submit a tax return from this date.
Anyone who receives a gift must pay gift tax. As a rule, spouses and persons in a registered partnership as well as descendants (children and grandchildren) are exempt from tax.
If you live in Switzerland and have a B permit, you are not obliged to submit a tax return. Unless the gross income exceeds CHF 120,000, however, the situation must be considered individually, a calculation by your tax advisor will show your possible tax savings.
Anyone who holds a C permit (residence permit) must submit a tax return.
A 3a pillar can be used individually and should therefore always be considered.
If you opt for a pillar 3a, you will benefit from tax advantages: You can deduct the amounts paid in on your annual tax return.
